Despite having to switch the date and location for our 4th annual Blue Ribbon 5K Run due to the devastation caused by hurricane Sandy, over 500 people showed up in support of the cause on Sunday, December 9th at Syosset Woodbury Park. Participants helped fight prostate cancer by raising funds for prostate cancer awareness, education and support at this annual community event.
While rain threatened to fall on runners and spectators, the skies held off for the entire morning and temperatures remained mild for this time of year. Men at the event took advantage of FREE Prostate Cancer screenings which were offered.
Integrated Medical Foundation would like to thank each and every one of you who ran, volunteered, raised funds, donated, and participated in this year’s Run!
Approximately one out of every six men will have prostate cancer in his lifetime, 240,000 will be newly diagnosed this year, and more than 33,000 will die from the disease. Integrated Medical Foundation has reached hundreds of thousands of men across Long Island at events, seminars, through radio and print, and performed free screenings for over 1,000 men in the last two years.Thanks for your support!
